FAQs
what is included in the food package?
Our food packs are tailored to the needs and customs of each country we serve, ensuring
families receive familiar and nutritious essentials. Each pack provides staple foods
that can sustain a family of up to five for an entire month.
Contents may include rice, flour, vegetable oil, salt, pasta, beans, lentils, sugar,
dates, and other locally sourced essentials.
why does a food package cost more than a previous year
The cost of essential goods has risen significantly, with some countries experiencing
price hikes of over 50%, including Kenya, Lebanon, Niger, Palestine (Gaza), South Sudan,
and Yemen.
To continue providing high-quality food assistance, we’ve adjusted our food pack
allocations while ensuring the best value for our donors. Thanks to our strong
partnerships with suppliers and wholesalers, we keep costs below market rates,
maximizing the impact of every donation.
why does a Food package cost more than the previous year ?
At Rahma Worldwide, we prepare for our Ramadan food distribution up to six months in advance to ensure timely and effective delivery across more 10 countries. We work closely with food suppliers, identify the most vulnerable families, and tailor food packs to meet both nutritional needs and cultural preferences. Our teams ensure that food is distributed at the start of Ramadan, so families can break their fast with dignity. Donations are accepted throughout the Ramadan Appeal, even in the last 10 days, guaranteeing that families receive their support on time.
How do food vouchers and cash transfers work?
Food vouchers and cash transfers empower families by allowing them to purchase food that best suits their needs, ensuring dignity and flexibility in food choices while supporting local markets.
What is the Qurbani Campaign, and who benefits from it?
During Dhul Hijjah, Rahma Worldwide carries out Qurbani (sacrificial meat distribution) to help vulnerable families celebrate Eid al-Adha with dignity by providing them with fresh meat.
Can I donate at any time during Ramadan?
Yes! Even if you donate in the last 10 days, we ensure that families receive their food pack on time.
What is Zakat al-Fitr (Fitrana)?
Zakat al-Fitr, also known as Fitrana, is a mandatory charitable donation required of every Muslim who has surplus food beyond their basic needs for at least one day and night. It purifies the fast and helps those in need celebrate Eid.
When should Fitrana be paid?
Fitrana must be paid during Ramadan, and the latest it can be given is before the Eid prayer. This ensures that those in need receive it in time to celebrate Eid.
Who is required to pay Fitrana?
Every Muslim, including children and infants, must give Fitrana. However, parents or guardians can pay on behalf of their children or dependents.
Who is eligible to receive Fitrana?
According to most scholars, only the first two categories of Zakat recipients (the poor and the needy) are eligible to receive Fitrana.
How does Rahma Worldwide distribute Fitrana?
Rahma Worldwide ensures that your Fitrana reaches the most vulnerable families in time for Eid, allowing them to share in the joy of the celebration.
