New backpacks on their shoulders. Big dreams ahead. 🎒💙
At the Church of Azraa in rural Daraa, Dr. Shadi Zaza met with the city’s Scout children and asked a simple question: What do you dream of becoming when you grow up?
The answers came quickly and joyfully. A doctor. An engineer. A lawyer. Between each answer were bright smiles, little laughs, and the excitement of imagining a future of their own. Simple moments, but full of meaning. For these children, a new school backpack meant more than carrying books and notebooks into a new academic year. It became a small ticket to the future, a reminder that every dream has a beginning, and that sometimes, that beginning starts with a classroom, a schoolbag, and someone who believes in what a child can become.
In Azraa, the new school year began with more than a new backpack. It began with a dream.

في كنيسة مدينة أزرع بريف درعا، كان السؤال بسيطًا: ماذا تحلم أن تصبح عندما تكبر؟
سأل الدكتور شادي ظاظا أطفال الكشافة، فانطلقت الإجابات بعفويةٍ تشبههم؛ واحدٌ يريد أن يصبح طبيبًا، وآخر يحلم بأن يكون مهندسًا، وثالثٌ اختار أن يصبح محاميًا… وبين إجابةٍ وأخرى، كانت تسبق الكلماتَ ضحكاتٌ صغيرة وابتساماتٌ واسعة. كانت لحظاتٌ بسيطة، لكنها قالت الكثير. فالحقيبة التي حملها كل طفل مع بداية عامه الدراسي لم تكن مجرد حقيبةٍ للكتب والدفاتر؛ كانت كأنها تذكرةٌ صغيرة إلى الغد إلى حلمٍ قد يبدأ اليوم من مقعدٍ دراسي، ثم يكبر مع كل درس، وكل خطوة، وكل عام.
في أزرع، لم تكن البداية حقيبةً جديدة فحسب.كانت بداية حلمٍ جديد. ✨
