When a story returns home…
In Daraya, the hometown of Ghiyath Matar, the Daraya Municipal Stadium on Al-Moadamiyah Road hosted a screening of Little Gandhi, directed by Sam Qadi, bringing Ghiyath’s story back to the city where it began.
A story that traveled far beyond Syria, reaching international and humanitarian platforms, returned to Daraya before an audience who experienced it not simply as a film, but as a deeply personal part of their collective memory. The screening brought moments of reflection, emotion, and renewed hope as the city looks toward life after liberation.
Through Rahma Worldwide, art, memory, and humanitarian action came together in a moment that brought Ghiyath’s story back to the place it belongs, and reaffirmed the lasting power of stories that leave a mark.
A story that began in Daraya… and found its way home.

حين تعود الحكاية إلى مكانها…
في داريا، مدينة غياث مطر، احتضن ملعب داريا البلدي – طريق المعضمية عرض فيلم «غاندي الصغير» للمخرج سام قاضي، في لحظةٍ عادت فيها حكاية غياث إلى المدينة التي حملت تفاصيلها الأولى.
حكايةٌ عبرت الحدود ووصلت إلى منصات دولية وإنسانية، لتعود اليوم إلى داريا أمام جمهورٍ استقبل الفيلم بتأثرٍ عميق، واستعاد معه الذاكرة والتضحيات، فيما حملت لحظة العرض ملامح الأمل في المدينة بعد التحرير.
ومع رحمة حول العالم، يلتقي الفن بالذاكرة والعمل الإنساني، في مشهدٍ يستعيد حكاية غياث من المكان الذي تنتمي إليه، ويؤكد أن بعض الحكايات يبقى أثرها حاضرًا مهما امتدت السنوات.
من داريا بدأت الحكاية… وإلى داريا عادت.
