In London, Little Gandhi returned to the screen at Curzon Mayfair, carrying the story of Ghiyath Matar and a chapter of Syria’s peaceful movement - the story of a young man who chose peace, dignity, and nonviolence, leaving an impact that reaches far beyond his time and place.
Directed by Syrian filmmaker Sam Kadi, the film brings Ghiyath Matar’s story back into view, not simply as a chapter of the past, but as a voice that continues to speak to the questions of the present.
Held during the week marking the anniversary of Ghiyath Matar’s passing, the screening became more than a cinematic event. When a story is told again, memory does not simply look back; it finds its way to those who never knew the person behind it.
Perhaps that is why some stories do not end when the screen goes dark.

وفي أسبوع تزامن مع ذكرى رحيل غياث مطر، اكتسب العرض معنىً يتجاوز السينما؛ فحين تُروى الحكاية من جديد، لا تعود الذاكرة إلى الوراء فحسب، بل تجد طريقها إلى من لم يعرفوا صاحبها يومًا.
ربما لهذا لا تنتهي بعض القصص عند الشاشة…
