When a story crosses borders, some voices continue to reach generations who never knew the people behind them.
In London, Little Gandhi returned to the screen at Curzon Mayfair, revisiting the story of Ghiyath Matar and a chapter of Syria’s peaceful movement, the story of a young man who chose peace, dignity, and nonviolence, leaving an impact that continues to reach far beyond his time and place.
Directed by Syrian filmmaker Sam Kadi, the film brings Ghiyath Matar’s story and the experience of Syria’s peaceful movement into focus through a deeply human lens, keeping his story alive in memory and bringing it to new audiences. The screening was the result of a collaborative effort between Rahma Worldwide and several partner organizations, bringing together members of the Syrian community, British political and human rights figures, and guests from across the Arab world. Held during the week marking the anniversary of Ghiyath Matar’s passing, the screening carried a meaning that extended beyond the film itself.
Because some stories do not end when the screen goes dark. They begin there.

في لندن، عاد فيلم «غاندي الصغير» إلى الشاشة في كِرزون مايْفير (Curzon Mayfair)، مستعيدًا قصة غياث مطر وفصلًا من الحراك السلمي في سوريا؛ قصة شاب اختار السلام والكرامة واللاعنف، وترك أثرًا يتجاوز زمنه ومكانه.
من إخراج المخرج السوري سام قاضي، يقدم الفيلم سيرة غياث مطر وتجربة الحراك السلمي من خلال عدسة إنسانية، لتبقى قصته حاضرة في الذاكرة وتصل إلى جمهور جديد. وجاء العرض ثمرةً لتعاونٍ مشترك جمع رحمة حول العالم بعدد من الجهات الشريكة، بحضور أبناء من الجالية السورية، وشخصيات سياسية وحقوقية بريطانية، وضيوف من عدة دول عربية. وأقيم العرض خلال الأسبوع الذي تزامن مع ذكرى رحيل غياث مطر، ليمنح الفيلم معنىً يتجاوز الشاشة.
فبعض القصص لا تنتهي بانتهاء عرضها، بل تبدأ من هناك.
