From Daraya to the world… and back home again.

In the hometown of Ghiyath Matar, Little Gandhi, directed by Sam Qadi, was screened at the Daraya Municipal Stadium on Al-Moadamiyah Road, a powerful moment as Ghiyath’s story returned to the place where it began.

The film carried Ghiyath’s story to international and humanitarian platforms around the world. Now, it returned to an audience that knows the place, remembers the story, and felt its weight firsthand.

For many in the audience, this was more than a film screening. It was an encounter with memory, sacrifice, and the hope of a city rebuilding its future after liberation.

Through Rahma Worldwide, art, memory, and humanitarian action came together to bring Ghiyath’s story back to Daraya, not as a distant memory, but as a legacy that remains deeply rooted in its people and its place.

The audience wasn’t simply watching a film. They were remembering Ghiyath in his own city.

Little Gandhi, when a story returns home.
