After surgery, returning to school was more than a return to learning. It was a sign that Omar was beginning to reclaim the rhythm of his everyday life.
In Idlib, Syria, 11-year-old Omar Marhef Janoudi underwent eye surgery after his condition began affecting his vision and daily life.
Having lost both of his parents, Omar lives with his grandfather and received the procedure through the Medical Support Program in Syria, implemented by Rahma Worldwide in partnership with JIGSAW.
The surgery was successfully completed, and Omar is now receiving six months of medical follow-up to monitor his visual progress and support his recovery.
Following the procedure, Omar returned to his institute to continue his studies while continuing his medical follow-up.
Care may begin in the operating room, but its impact is felt in what comes after, when a child can return to school, routine, and the days still ahead.

بعد الجراحة، لم تعد العودة إلى المعهد مجرد عودة إلى الدراسة. كانت علامة على أن عمر بدأ يستعيد تفاصيل يومه.
في إدلب، سوريا، خضع عمر مرهف جانودي، البالغ من العمر 11 عامًا، لجراحة عينية بعد أن أثّرت حالته على نظره وحياته اليومية.
عمر، الذي فقد والديه ويعيش مع جده، تلقى التدخل ضمن برنامج الدعم الطبي في سوريا، الذي تنفذه رحمة حول العالم بالشراكة مع JIGSAW.
تكللت الجراحة بالنجاح، ويخضع عمر الآن لمتابعة طبية تمتد لستة أشهر لمراقبة تطور حالته البصرية ودعم تعافيه.
عاد عمر إلى معهده بعد العملية، ليستكمل دراسته بينما يواصل متابعته الطبية.
قد تبدأ الرعاية من غرفة العمليات، لكن أثرها الحقيقي يظهر في حياة الطفل بعدها؛ حين يعود إلى دراسته، وروتينه، والأيام التي ينتظر أن يعيشها.
