In one of Aleppo’s old neighborhoods lives Um Ali, an elderly woman in her eighties. She suffers from a chronic kidney disease and requires regular dialysis sessions. Her fragile health makes it impossible to undergo surgery to remove the kidney stones that cause her constant pain.

By the grace of God, and with the support of JIGSAW and the implementation of Rahma Worldwide’s team in Aleppo, a financial aid of $300 was provided to cover her medical and living expenses for three months, renewable for another period — a lifeline that eased some of the heavy burdens she carries each day.
