Around 16.2 million Yemenis do not even know where they could get their next meal. And if at all they get the meal—would it be sufficient for all of them? The political instability and war have reigned over the Yemenis for the past 6 years. Constant war has endangered the lives of many and continues to do so. All the good hearts in the world are contributing to the Yemen relief fund to provide basic facilities. Yet the food insecurity crisis is looming over the Yemenis, and they need your help.
The bleak picture of Yemen
Economic disruptions and unemployment have led many people into debt. A majority of the population does not have anything to ensure their basic needs. Therefore, they are struggling to get a proper meal. Many children are malnourished due to insufficient nutrition and healthcare services.
Yemenis can only put together a bowl of rice and tea. They resort to extreme measures like cutting down on their food consumption or going without food for days. It is aggravating the situation in Yemen.
Women population under pressure
Every woman in the family puts her children and husband’s needs first. They get the last share of any food that is left. As a result, almost one-quarter of women between 15 and 49 are severely malnourished. Two million pregnant women are at risk of death if the famine becomes more serious.
