Urgent Statement from Rahma Worldwide: Immediate Appeal to Save Gaza from Famine

Rahma Worldwide is sounding the alarm over the catastrophic deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, particularly the spread of famine and severe malnutrition, which have reached dangerously advanced levels. Based on field reports from our teams across the Strip, more than one million people are now at risk of dying from starvation.

Our teams have also documented an unprecedented influx of dozens of individuals suffering from extreme malnutrition into Gaza’s hospitals, arriving in states of exhaustion, severe debilitation, and loss of mobility due to prolonged hunger and the complete lack of food.

Accordingly, Rahma Worldwide urges all stakeholders to immediately pressure Israel to uphold its obligations under international humanitarian law. We demand the urgent and unconditional opening of the crossings and the entry of all essential humanitarian aid, including critical food supplies such as flour, vegetables, meat, and infant formula, which provide vital nutrition. We also call for the delivery of personal hygiene products and fuel (diesel) necessary for operating hospitals and essential services.

Time is running out. Unless the international community and humanitarian organizations unite and intensify efforts to push for the swift opening of crossings, the delivery of essential food, medicine, and fuel, and the scaling up of a comprehensive humanitarian response, we face an unthinkable humanitarian catastrophe.

تدق منظمة رحمة حول العالم ناقوس الخطر إزاء التدهور الكارثي للوضع الإنساني في قطاع غزة، وتحديدًا تفشي المجاعة وسوء التغذية التي وصلت إلى مراحل متقدمة ومقلقة للغاية. بناءً على التقارير الميدانية الواردة من فرقنا المنتشرة في القطاع، حيث تشير التقارير الى توجه أكثر من مليون نسمة خطر الموت جوعًا.

كما رصدت فرقنا تدفقًا غير مسبوق لعشرات الأفراد الذين يعانون من سوء التغذية الشديد إلى مستشفيات قطاع غزة، حيث وصلوا في حالات إنهاك وإعياء حاد، وفقدان القدرة على الحركة نتيجة الجوع الشديد وانعدام الغذاء لفترات طويلة.

وعليه تحث منظمة رحمة حول العالم جميع الأطراف الفاعلة على الضغط الفوري على إسرائيل للوفاء بالتزاماتها بموجب القانون الدولي الإنساني. كما نطالب بفتح المعابر بشكل عاجل ودون شروط، والسماح بإدخال جميع أصناف المساعدات الإنسانية الضرورية، بما في ذلك المواد الغذائية الأساسية مثل الطحين، الخضروات، اللحوم، وحليب الأطفال، والتي تشكل قيمة غذائية حيوية. كما ندعو إلى إدخال مواد النظافة الشخصية والوقود (السولار) الضروري لتشغيل المستشفيات والخدمات الأساسية.

إن الوقت ينفد. ما لم تتضافر الجهود الدولية وتتكاثف مساعي المنظمات الإنسانية للضغط من أجل الإسراع في فتح المعابر وإدخال الإمدادات الغذائية والدوائية الأساسية، وتكثيف الاستجابة الإنسانية الشاملة، فإننا نواجه كارثة إنسانية لا تحمد عقباها.
